Black Belt Club

... is unique. No other school (that we are aware of) has developed a Program which allows students to learn and develop their skills in such a rewarding and effective manner. The system allows the student to physically develop flexibility, balance strength and confidence with each new belt. Each new belt brings the student one step closer to their ultimate goal: Black Belt.

Performance Rating System
Promotion to each new belt is not “Automatic.” Each Student’s Eligibility for Testing is Based on their Performance in each of these Five Categories:
1. Attendance and Commitment
2. Spirit and Energy for Excellence
3. Knowledge of Curriculum
4. Improvements in Fitness
5. Martial Arts Protocol

Here’s how it works.

The student begins with a White Belt. At the end of each class, they receive an attendance stripe. After 8 stripes, and one month of classes, the student is eligible to spotlight (pre-test), this is done the week before testing (tests are typically on Saturday evenings.) If the student performs well, they will receive a testing form and permission to attend the test. (There is a $15 dollar testing fee due prior to taking all colored belt tests. Bo-Black and Black Belt fees are different.) Students test every month for the first four months, until reaching Solid Yellow. At this time they will test every two months and are eligible to spotlight after receiving 16 stripes. At Red Belt level the tests are 3 months apart and the student may spotlight after 24 stripes. Once the student receives a Recommended Black Belt (half red and half black) the student will re-test every month for ten months. The student will receive one stripe upon passing each test (no more attendance stripes at this point.) After a 12 month waiting period and having successfully tested for 10 stripes, the student is eligible to take their Black Belt Test. Black Belt Tests are typically held every 6 months (April and October.)

Adults and juniors are not required to test each month initially. They may progress to Solid Yellow Belt after a 2 month waiting period and 16 attendance stripe.

The Belt System works as follows:

Black Belt Complete Mastery of all curriculum

Attaining a Black Belt is a wonderful and rewarding, sometimes even life changing accomplishment. People who achieve Black Belt have proof that they can achieve nearly anything in life it they are willing to focus energy, overcome their obstacles and don’t give up. That’s the power of a Black Belt. It teaches us how to be successful...at anything!

If you’re not involved in the Black Belt Club, you may be sabotaging yourself...in essence setting yourself up for failure. Believe and you will achieve.

BBC members receive special classes each week which allow them to train at a higher more focuses level than is possible in the basic group classes. Additionally, BBC members learn specialized curriculum (self-defense) and weapons training. BBC membership also grants the student access to the Demonstration Team; the Elite Squad of students dedicated to reaching their personal best. They represent our school by performing at the monthly belt exams and at exhibitions in the greater Danbury area.
